معنای disguise و مترادفهای آن
در این قسمت از آموزش زبان انگلیسی می خواهیم معنای disguise را بصورت یک ضرب المثل بیان کنیم. ابتدا ضرب المثل را ببینید:
The devil doesn’t come to you with a red face and horns, he comes to you disguised as everything you’ve ever wanted.
شیطان با چهره سرخ و شاخ دار به سوی شما نمی آید، بلکه او در لباس مبدل هر چیز مورد علاقه تان به سوی شما می آید.
در جمله بالا horn یعنی شاخ و معنای disguise یعنی مبدل شدن، تغییر چهره دادن، پنهان شدن، استتار کردن و غیره می باشد. این لغت در مواردی به معنای پنهان کردن ایده یا اندیشه نیز به کار می رود. دقت داشته باشید که کلمه disguise از ریشه guise به معنای نمای بیرونی، چهره ظاهری و پسوند dis که معمولا وقتی در ابتدای هر کلمه قرار می گیرد، حالت منفی به آن می دهد، شکل می گیرد.

کلمه disguise در کنار حالت فعلی، اسم نیز می باشد که به معنای لباس مبدل، و امثال آن ترجمه می شود.
